SURGE ONYX PLAYER

PLAY

Melbourne Surge’s membership continues to grow each year, and with it the number of competitive players!

The club adds an additional team to the Victorian State League approximately every two years due to the ongoing growth.

The club now fields four teams of varying abilities and goals. Additionally our social members play scratch matches and train to improve their skills, understanding of the game, and general fitness (or to have fun!)

If you would like to play or have any other enquiries, just get in touch.

TEAMS

We field a number of Mix Gendered Teams through State Leagues 4-7. These teams field a broad range of skills and motivations so can find a place for most athletes.

SURGE SL5

Our SL5 teams build on a foundation of established abilities. The teams are competitive, have fun and develops their skills year on year.

SURGE SL4

Our SL4 team has experienced players and/or highly skilled players. Competing in SL4, they are focussed on further developing skills and play to win.

SURGE SL3

Our SL3 team has our most experienced and/or highly skilled players. Competing in SL3, they are focussed, highly competitive and play to win.

SURGE SL6

The SL6 teams are formed mostly by the recent graduates from our Rookies Program and are the players that are still wanting to improve on the basics, playing together and having fun.

SWIM TRAINING

Our social swim training is held on Tuesday nights at the Richmond Recreational Centre from 7-8pm.

WOMEN IN WATER POLO

Studies have shown that women are vastly under-represented in Australian sport, and Melbourne Surge wants to change that.

While the majority of our members are men, women are more than welcome to be members and train with us in a supported environment.

Water Polo Victoria supports mixed state league teams so we are now more inclusive than ever at Melbourne Surge having mixed competitive teams in SL6 and SL7.

As an inclusive club, we are also keen to support the sporting experiences of the trans, intersex, and non-gender binary communities. Contact us about how we can support your needs.
